Originally I am from Barnsley in Yorkshire. My parents are Polish and settled in England in 1946 after serving in the allied Armed Forces. I went to school in Sheffield and was accepted by Newcastle Medical School in 1974, qualifying in 1979.
Dr Joan Carmichael and Dr Anne Graham, my predecessors, appointed me to the practice in 1984 shortly after my first son Jake was born.
There have been many changes over the years. It has been my aim to remain a clinical generalist and keep medically up to date with the many and varied patients that I see in a working day. I regard a patient's context within their family and working life to be of key importance in medical management.
