Online Appointments

You can make and cancel appointments and order repeat prescriptions online from this website provided that you have a password to log into The Patient Access System. To obtain your password, please bring some photo id (driving licence / passport etc) to reception.

Urgent appointments

Urgent problems will be seen on the same day by the duty doctor. This responsibility is shared by the partners.

It is helpful to give details of the problem to the receptionist so that the appointment is given the appropriate level of priority.

Non-urgent appointments

You are free to make an appointment with any doctor or the practice nurse. You will be seen at the booked appointment time. Occasionally delay may be caused by sudden emergencies or the unexpected length of some consultations.

At certain times it will be necessary to see a practitioner other than your usual doctor. For example appointments needed at short notice or during doctors annual leave. This will particularly affect Dr Rye who works part time.

Single consultations only

Each appointment is for one patient only. Please book a separate appointment for each person who needs to be seen.

Telephone Advice

There is a doctor available daily to give telephone advice to patients. You will need to ring reception, who will advise a time a GP can be contacted.

Early morning appointments

The practice offers early morning appointments two mornings a week from 7.30am

Instead of booking a GP appointment, you can visit your local pharmacy instead, saving you time and with no appointment needed, you can just walk in.

If you are unable to keep a booked appointment let the surgery know as soon as possible. This will allow us to use the time productively by offering the appointment to another patient. Late arrivals may be asked to re book or wait until the end of surgery, depending on the doctor's available time.

Sick children under 5

The practice offers same day telephone and surgery appointments to children under 5 years old who are unwell.

If a parent is very concerned about a child over the age of 5 years a same day appointment will also be given.

Winter Access

Telephone consultation and same day appointment if patient thinks the condition is urgent.

Urgent bookable appointments everyday.

Requests for home visits passed to the doctor on call for assessment as they come in.

Same day access for children under 12 years.

Referrals from 111 service to be accepted as if patient has put in request.

Home visits

If you are too ill or frail to come to the surgery it is possible for the doctor to visit you at home.

Please ask for a non emergency home visit Monday to Friday before 10.00 a.m. One of the doctors may telephone you to discuss the request. After discussion you may be asked to attend the surgery where more suitable facilities for examination and treatment are available.

The doctor may delegate the visit to another member of the practice, such as a district nurse when this is appropriate.

Your doctor can usually see several patients at the surgery in the time that it takes to make a single housecall.
